That ‘80’s Show interactive play ‘happening’ at M-PHS

MARYSVILLE – If you think the 1980s were the greatest decade ever, or even if you don’t, you’ll love “The Awesome ‘80s Prom!”

The Marysville-Pilchuck High School Drama Club is putting on the interaction play in its auditorium. There is just one weekend left, Nov. 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $7.

The event program explains how it is interactive:

“You are invited to become an active participant attending a high school prom in 1989. You are welcome to sit and watch the show, but don’t be surprised if you are asked to dance, sign yearbooks, retirement cards, and vote for prom king and queen. The concept is simple:

Imagine going back to 1989 and attending a high school prom with characters from your favorite ’80’s movies. From the captain of the football team, to the foreign exchange student, from the geek, to the head cheerleader, they’re all competing for prom king and queen. The audience decides who wins.

Audience members are encouraged to dress in their ’80’s best and even to jump on stage and dance. As a result, no two shows are the same.

Students in the cast include: Jesus German, Angela Ferguson, Gerard Lee-Shaw, Jose Gonzales, Megan Gooding, Kaeli Coms, Rachel Bartholomew, Emma Holscher, Morgan Reed, Ashlyn Stroker-Stelter, Amanda Littell, Sarah Nelson, Selena Morales, Ashley Gooding, Nikole Dufour, Jamie Lawler, Emma Keator, Cassie Kunselman, Echo Crossland, Alexis Montgomery, Cohleen Ray-Villajo and some surprise guests.

Spectators can come in costume early if they want to be part of the pre-dance gathering at 7.
