Kiosk at soccer field earns teen Eagle Scout status

MARYSVILLE – Nathan Caferro of Marysville recently attained his Eagle Scout award after building an information kiosk for a local soccer field. Nathan started in the scouting program in the first grade. He has a 3.65 grade point average.

Nathan solicited materials from local lumber yards, hardware stores and home improvement businesses. He and his dad constructed the body and roof of the kiosk in their garage over the summer. Other Troop 19 members and Marysville city staff helped Nathan tear down the old kiosk and install the new one. New landscaping was provided.

Nathan realizes the importance of community service, evidenced by his recent volunteering efforts for a breast cancer awareness walk and a fundraiser for pregnancy aid, his dad said.
