Fundraiser for homeless kids

MARYSVILLE – A local group is trying to raise $3,000 for after-school programs to help 400 homeless children in Marysville schools.

Irma’s Way is a proven program for at risk-kids.

The group is having an estate sale every Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 104 Beach.

The group also is taking donations of items to sell, call Steve Reid at 360-913-8273.

Classes on grief begin

MARYSVILLE – Mountain View Presbyterian Church begins its 2017 Fall GriefShare® Series starting Sept 28, running through Jan 11, 2018.

GriefShare helps individuals cope with the death of someone close. Group meetings occur Thursdays at the church, from 1:30-3:30 p.m..

Larsen to meet with veterans

ARLINGTON – U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen of District 2 will host six Veterans Forums next month, including one Oct. 20 in Arlington.

The forums are opportunities for veterans to receive updates on legislation affecting them and get answers to questions about reforms at the Department of Veterans Affairs, health care, job training and housing.

The local event will be from 1-3 p.m. at Arlington American Legion Post 76, 115 North Olympic Ave.
