ARLINGTON – As is often the case, lucky kids in Arlington get two Halloweens this year.

The one Tuesday, Oct. 31, of course, but also Oct 28 it was Halloween in Arlington and businesses downtown hand out candy to hundreds of children.

Jamie Cavenuss, who works at Magic Shears, was giving out candy dresses at a minion. She has been doing it every Halloween since 2011.

As kids and their parents seemingly passed by nonstop from noon to 1 p.m., Cavenuss said she loves the downtown event that gives kids a save environment to enjoy.

Even though it was an exceptionally nice fall day, she said it didn’t seem like there were more people than usual.

“It’s busy every year, rain or shine,” she said.
