Arlington briefs (June 10)

ARLINGTON — An Arlington woman reportedly used the same trick to carjack two people in the past four months.

Theresa Lee Domrude, 38, told them someone was after her and that she needed a ride. Along the way, she attacked the drivers, court documents say. In one case, she allegedly shoved a driver out of the car and sped off.

She appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine both times, police said.

Domrude, who also goes by the last names King and Dugan, has been charged with robbery, assault and reckless endangerment. She has pleaded not guilty. Domrude remains in the Snohomish County Jail awaiting trial.

On Feb. 8, she flagged down a mother and her 10-year-old daughter who were driving by in Arlington. Domrude allegedly choked the driver with a scarf and elbowed her in the face multiple times, court papers say. The daughter yelled, “Please don’t hurt my mommy,” court papers continue.

She later reportedly told police she believed her husband had been injecting her with meth while she slept.

Domrude was released from jail after posting $150,000 bail. While her case was pending, she reportedly wound up in strikingly similar trouble.

On May 3, Domrude went to a house in Everett. Her friend was not home, but his sister was. Domrude told her she was being followed and needed a ride.

The driver became frustrated after being given several random locations. Eventually she said she was heading back to her brother’s house.

Domrude began pushing her out of the car. The two fought. The driver was bit on her arm. Domrude reportedly shoved the woman on to the pavement and sped off. Domrude was arrested eight hours later for investigation of driving while under the influence and theft of motor vehicle.

Since 1994, Domrude has been convicted of seven felonies, including drug possession, theft, assault, eluding police and forgery. She also has 23 misdemeanors.
