March 7 day to donate to Food Bank
MARYSVILLE — March 7 offers more than one opportunity for the community to support the Marysville Community Food Bank. The Marysville chapter of Soroptimist International will be conducting "Hams for the Hungry" food drives at Marysville grocery stores throughout the day, and at 6 p.m., the Marysville Nazarene Church will hosting a benefit concert, by Breath of Aire, for the Food Bank.
Admission for the concert is $10 per person, through advanced ticket sales or at the door, and all proceeds will go toward the Food Bank. Those who wish to donate beyond the admission price of the concert will be able to do so, and food donations will be accepted upon entry as well.
Concert seating is limited to the first 450 people. To purchase tickets, or for more information, you can call event coordinators Margaret and David Leggett at home at 360-568-0177 or on their cell at 425-231-3330, or Marysville Nazarene Church lead pastor Craig Laughlin or church secretary Ginger Ropp at 360-659-4629. She asked donors to specify that their donations are part of the Feinstein challenge, to ensure the matching funds.
Food donations can be brought to the Food Bank's location at 4150 88th St. NE in Marysville, from 8-11 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and from 2-6 p.m. Tuesdays. Financial donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 917, Marysville, WA 98270, or brought to the Food Bank during donation hours.
