VCS seeking volunteers

SMOKEY POINT — A nonprofit agency is seeking volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors.

Village Community Services is recruiting individuals with expertise in finance, manufacturing or special education to sit on the Board.

Volunteers must passionately believe in the rights, talents and potential of people with disabilities. They must also want to work toward those individuals’ full inclusion in the workforce and community, said Michelle Dietz-Date of the agency.

Members of the Board of Directors help set the vision and policies that govern Village Community Service’s relationship with people with special needs.

Board members must also help inform the community about the many skills and abilities people with disabilities have to offer, Dietz-Date said.

Members of the Board meet the last Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
