Grace Academy lets kids cool down at art camp
August 5, 2009 · 11:16 AM
MARYSVILLE — Grace Academy offered Marysville-area children a way to beat the heat July 27-31, by offering the first of two weeks of art camp, open to all elementary school-aged kids, for the first time.
Each day of the art camp has focused on a different art medium, and featured a different historical artist for the day. Campers have been sketching and painting, as well as working with clay, printmaking and collages.
"The kids have been able to expand their knowledge of art and experiment with their artistic creativity," said Joan Dabrowski of Grace Academy, who explained that Grace Academy plans to offer art camp for elementary students in future summers as well. "If you have a budding artist in your family, or if your kids need a break from the heat, plan to enroll your child in art camp next summer."
The Grace Academy art camp continues through Aug. 3-7. For more information, call 360-659-8517.
