MARYSVILLE — Marysville resident Ann Brown, who mostly drives Routes 221 and 222 in Marysville, was honored, along with fellow Community Transit drivers Gary Krause and Pete Majkut, for driving a million miles without an accident. Each met the National Safety Council’s standard of 12 and a half years without a preventable accident to earn the honor.

“It takes a lot of patience and hard work to drive a million miles without an accident,” said Tom Pearce, spokesperson for Community Transit. “Doing it in a bus that often is almost as wide as the lanes of many roads, while making frequent stops to pick up or let off passengers, is even more difficult.”

Brown has been with Community Transit since March of 1996, and has earned numerous commendations from her customers, including six for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
