MARYSVILLE — The Ken Baxter Senior Community Center is hosting a series of four one-day cooking classes, for ages 50 and over, starting May 6, with garden-fresh soups and salads.

This class will feature a menu of spinach soup and a composed salad with a surprise dessert, and is designed to serve those dining by themselves and those cooking for groups alike.

Taught by Michael Aspen, chef and owner of "A Taste of the Good Life" personal chef services, the class takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m., and its cost is $20, with pre-registration required 48 hours in advance.
