MARYSVILLE — The fourth annual Marysville Poochapalooza is seeking vendors of pet products and other items who are interested in taking part in the July 11 outdoor event, which will celebrate dog lovers and their four-legged best friends.

This year’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Totem Middle School’s Asbery Field, on 1605 Seventh St. Poochapalooza is sponsored by the non-profit Marysville Dog Owners Group, as well as the Marysville Parks and Recreation Department, with key event sponsorship from the Angel of the Winds Casino. The event showcases "pooches at their best and brightest," according to Poochapalooza Coordinator and M-DOG President Leslie Buell.

Public admission is free, but donations are greatly welcomed, since proceeds will go to support ongoing maintenance, equipment and stewardship needs for the Marysville Strawberry Fields for Rover Off-Leash Park, as well as supporting M-DOG in advocating on behalf of dog owners and addressing pet-related issues. Dozens of vendor booths, a regional flying disc championship, Flyball exhibitions, Emerald City K-9 Freestyle Dog Dancing demonstrations, a canine agility course and many "best in show" contests round out "a great day for dogs and their owners," in Buell's words.

"It's like a county fair for dogs," Buell said. "Poochapalooza is all about the dogs, and giving them a fun day to call their own."

Vendor forms, booth prices and general event information are available on the Poochapalooza Web site, at poochapalooza.org. For more information, contact Buell by phone at 360-651-0633, or via e-mail at labuell@verizon.net.
