UPDATE | Marysville emergency cold weather shelter open through Feb. 8

MARYSVILLE — Due to low temperatures in the evenings, the volunteer operators of the emergency cold weather shelter at the Damascus Road Church in Marysville expect to be open nightly through Saturday, Feb. 8.

Volunteer teams have remained on call throughout the winter, since the start of December, but have only been called upon to operate the shelter when the temperature has dropped below freezing.

The Marysville emergency cold weather shelter is open at the Damascus Road Church, located at 1048 State Ave., from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. when nighttime temperatures are 32 degrees or colder.

Dinner is served and admission is allowed until 9:30 p.m., after which the shelter locks down, with breakfast following from 6-7 a.m.

Space at the shelter is limited to 24 spots.
