Operation Desert Comfort packing party for American troops in Afghanistan set for Sept. 14

MARYSVILLE — Operation Desert Comfort will return to the Marysville American Legion Post 178 Hall, at the corner of Cedar Avenue and Second Street, on Saturday, Sept. 14, to assemble care packages for American troops serving overseas.

Volunteers who arrive at 119 Cedar Ave. in Marysville at 8 a.m. will be treated to a free breakfast, before they start work at 9 a.m. on packing boxes with donated food and personal care products to send to U.S. military members in Afghanistan.
