Grocery store food drives support Marysville Community Food Bank Aug. 17
MARYSVILLE — Two local grocery stores will be hosting food drives to support the Marysville Community Food Bank on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Grocer4u.com, a locally owned business that supports the Marysville Community Food Bank both financially and through food drives, will be conducting the Aug. 17 food drives at the Marysville Albertsons, located at 1528 Third St., and the Marysville IGA, located at 6610 64th St.
The goal of Grocer4u.com is to raise $4,000 annually for the Marysville Community Food Bank through local community involvement. The Saturday food drives are intended not only to collect necessary items for the Food Bank, but also to help spread the word on how the community can help support the Food Bank passively, through everyday online shopping.
Each Grocer4u.com user registering with the charity code "MCFB" generates 4 percent of the Online Deal sale price back to the Food Bank. More than $300 has been raised for the Food Bank since launching this program at the end of May.
