Sept. 30 is deadline to nominate 'Real Heroes' for Red Cross awards
The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking nominations for its annual "Real Heroes" awards.
"Real Heroes" are everyday people who are honored for demonstrating extraordinary courage. If you know someone who saved a life, gave of themselves to help another, or did something truly remarkable within the past year, that person could be eligible for this award.
The nominee or nominator should live, work or be stationed in Snohomish County, and the nominee should have gone above and beyond the scope of their job, or else have intervened or taken action, in a time of crisis or a life-threatening situation, to have saved or assisted in the saving a life, or in the improving of a life.
These heroic acts should verifiable by one or more witnesses, police reports, news articles or other substantive materials.
You can use the online nomination form to tell the story of these heroic acts at www.snohomishcounty.redcross.org/Real_Heroes_Nomination_Form.php.
Sunday, Sept. 30, is the deadline to nominate someone as one of this year's "Real Heroes."
"Real Heroes" awards will be presented at the 17th annual "Real Heroes" breakfast on Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Tulalip Resort Casino's Orca Ballroom, and will be sponsored by the Snohomish County chapter of the American Red Cross.
