WineStyles fundraiser for QCS' Willow Place Nov. 10
November 1, 2011 · 3:52 PM
MARYSVILLE — WineStyles of Marysville is conducting a wine-tasting on Nov. 10 to support Quilceda Community Services' Willow Place.
Attendees will be able to sample six different wines from 5-8 p.m. at WineStyles, located at 6608 64th St. NE in Marysville.
Willow Place, a specialized recreation program for adults with developmental disabilities, was started in 2008 with four clients, but now has 68 registered participants. It provides weekly sessions, each of which includes a fitness hour, an art hour and a social hour. All the activities focus on wellness and are ability-appropriate to meet each client's level, as well as to keep them social, active, verbal and learning new things.
QCS purchased the 2,500-square-foot Willow Place building at 9610 48 Dr. NE in Marysville on Aug. 1 of this year, with plans for it to house the agency's corporate offices as well, and all funds contributed to QCS at WineStyles on Nov. 10 will assist with the building's remodeling.
