United Way of Snohomish County to recruit 340 volunteers for Days of Caring

SNOHOMISH COUNTY — United Way of Snohomish County is recruiting for 340 volunteers that are still needed to fill this year's slate of Days of Caring projects, taking place at sites around Snohomish County Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24. Team and individuals interested in participating can sign up at uwsc.org through Monday, Sept. 12.
Slots at many of this year's 54 hands-on projects are available both Friday and Saturday. Benefitting local nonprofit agencies, jobs include painting, grounds clean-up, roof repair and reading to elementary students.
Last year, 950 Days of Caring volunteers spent time at 56 project sites, giving more than 5,225 hours valued at $109,000. In 2011, 643 volunteers have registered to-date.
