MARYSVILLE — Marysville residents are invited to meet with Mayor Jon Nehring for coffee and conversation from 10-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 14.

The next coffee klatch in this occasional series will be in the Ken Baxter Community Center, 514 Delta Ave. Please RSVP by 5 p.m. Friday, July 8 to Executive Asst. Lynn Schroeder at 360-363-8091 or e-mail lschroeder@marysvillewa.gov.

While topics are generally as open and varied as citizens want to talk about, Nehring would like to spend some time during the get-together to get ideas and comments for a neighborhood enhancement program in the works that he is championing. The new award program would recognize a homeowner and block or neighborhood for visual attractiveness and landscaping improvements, as well as a business award for street-side appeal.

“We want to recognize people who take pride in cleanliness, appeal and livability where they live or work,” Nehring said. “Their efforts reflect well on the community, and could inspire others to do the same.” Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
