Citizens sought to fill vacancies on Marysville’s Library Board, Salary Commission

MARYSVILLE – The city of Marysville is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Library Board and Salary Commission, both of which currently have vacancies.
Nominees for the two volunteer Library Board positions must reside within Marysville School District area boundaries or within city limits. The seven-member board meets at 4 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the Marysville Public Library, 6120 Grove St. Terms are for five years.
The Board adopts rules and regulations for the its own guidance and for governance of the library as deemed necessary, accepts gifts of money or property for the library, and proposes leases or purchases related to library grounds and facilities, all subject to final approval of the City Council.
The city is also seeking a citizens interested in filling a vacancy on the Salary Commission. The independent seven-member commission conducts annual reviews of compensation for the elected Mayor and City Councilmembers.
Candidates must be Marysville citizens. Members are limited to two three-year terms. The Commission meets annually between January and March.
