MARYSVILLE — Allen Creek Elementary is kicking off the third phase of its beautification project Sept. 18, but it needs volunteers to take part in the day's labors.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Allen Creek Elementary PTSA and Beautification Committee will organize work parties as they prep, scrape and paint the trim, gutters and doors of the school's southeast side gym area, around the back of the building and, time permitting, its playground side. Volunteers will also be doing general weeding and trash pickup.

During the last school year, volunteers completed phases one and two of the project, which included painting the trim, gutters, doors and tiles of the front and most of the south side of the building, as well as another round of general weeding and trash pick up.

Event organizers invite volunteers to come for an hour or two, or all day. Volunteers are being asked to wear painting clothes and bring gloves.
