New business to match $1,000 in donations to Marysville food bank

MARYSVILLE – Coastal Farm and Ranch hasn’t even opened its doors in Marysville, but it is opening its hearts over the holidays to match donations dollar-for-dollar to the local food bank.

For every dollar donated to the Marysville Food Bank, Coastal will match it up to $1,000, with the goal to raise enough to feed more than 1,500 people.

Coastal owner Buzz Wheeler said, “This is our opportunity to support the less-fortunate families and hard-working people in need of a good meal.”

The Oregon-based chain will open its Marysville store in the former Kmart building at 9623 State Ave. in the first few months of the new year.

Donations can be made to the Marysville Food Bank at 4150 88th St. NE, south of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Donations can also be made by calling 360-658-1054 or at marysvillefoodbank.org. All donations need to reference the Coastal match.

Coastal Farm and Ranch sells pet and livestock supplies, work clothes, outdoor lawn and garden supplies, fencing and more. The company has 15 stores in Washington and Oregon, with the closest store now in Mount Vernon.
