Marysville Tulalip Business Before Hours reviews 2010 legislative session March 26

MARYSVILLE — The 2010 legislative session will be the subject of the next Business Before Hours meeting conducted by the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce.

The Tulalip Resort Casino will host the event, March 26 from 7-9 a.m., to discuss what lies ahead for local businesses as a result of local, state and federal government budget cuts.

Among the topics set to be discussed is the prospect of impending new and increased taxes on employers, including on utilities, workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.

Although state lawmakers have been faced with the task of closing a $2.8 billion budget shortfall, many businesses have already made cuts to their own budgets to stay in business.

Former state Rep. Gary Chandler, vice president of government affairs for the Association of Washington Business, will provide the meeting's briefing on the 2010 legislative session.

To register for the meeting, e-mail or call 360-659-7700. The cost is $23.00 per person for those who pre-register, or $28.00 at the door. Reservations made and not honored will be billed.
