TULALIP – For Janie Morris and her husband Rodney Windhorst, being physically fit is a lifelong passion, but until recently it was not a job. Now the couple, a project management consultant and eye doctor, are co-owners of the new Healthy Quest Fitness studio in Tulalip, which held a grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 27.

"For us, fitness has been a really high priority. When this came up, several little studios in the Marysville area were closing down and all these people were looking for a place to work out. Zumba was moving into garages," said Morris. "That's when we decided to open Healthy Quest."

The fitness studio also houses the HQ Cafe and catering business owned by husband and wife duo, Mark and Cindy Langmas.

"We want to encourage people to come in and get something healthy to eat," said Cindy Langmas. "Our slogan is 'Say yes to the good stuff.'"

The studio has seven instructors on staff who teach classes such as Zumba, Body Sculpting, Turbo Kick, kickboxing, with more programs to come as they grow.

"As we were hear building the interior, people heard we were here and we had classes going on while we were still under construction," said Windhorst. "That's how much the need existed."

The studio has several levels and a stage, as well as Zumba clothes for sale and the cafe offering protein shakes and healthy meals.

"The fact that it is multi-level is great for instruction, the elevated stage makes a huge difference," said Windhorst. "A lot of the time with a flat studio you can't see the instructor."

Langmas agreed. "This is hands down the coolest fitness center around," she said.

The studio offers childcare at $1 per hour for a child and $2 per hour for a baby or $25 for monthly unlimited.

Healthy Quest also offers several different rates and plans. A daily drop in fee is $5 per class. The studio also offers monthly plans with more unlimited use available.
