MARYSVILLE – Cascadia Senior Living of Yakima plans to build a $14 million facility at 110th and State Avenue in Marysville.

The community will cater to the needs of elderly residents with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

A ground-breaking ceremony Tuesday kicked off construction, which will take about a year.

Fieldstone Memory Care of Marysville will be single story with almost 40,000 square feet. The community will contain 48 units and 60 licensed beds, of which 36 will be private units and 12 will be companion rooms. Each unit will have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The community will be licensed with state Department of Social and Health Services.

There are a variety of common area features and amenities within the community. These include a unique town square featuring a movie theater, salon, cafe, art studio and sensory room. Each resident area is built around a “great room” concept, where the living room, dining room and kitchen are integrated. Fieldstone Marysville will also include an outdoor courtyard with a gardening center.

Its almost 5 acres and will have approximately 62 parking spaces. Owners Justin Younker and Douglas Ellison said Tuesday they have the perfect location between residential community and a growing commercial area.

Younker said they have been looking for just the right location in Snohomish County for some time.

He said the development was received well at a community meeting. Younker said Fieldstone will be a good neighbor because it will be quiet with not a lot of traffic.

“It’s about the least obtrusive” as a business can be, he said.
