I graduated with a B.S. degree from Eastern Washington University in June, 1981. Am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Strategic Air Command) serving our nation as a Life Support instructor (Survival) and as Human Relations Instructor. I married Joyce in October, 1975. We have one daughter and three grandchildren. I've been in sales 34 years with 15 of those years in print and online media sales. I've served Sound Publishing as a sales manager since 2003. I was promoted to General Sales Manager of the Marysville Globe and Arlington Times in March, 2011, I'm very grateful to be associated with such an outstanding and dedicated group of people here at the Globe and Times. I feel privileged to be working with this staff of people who are so committed to customer service and customer satisfaction as the Globe and Times people are!

Steve became managing editor of the Marysville Globe and Arlington Times in May of 2014. Previously he was an assistant city editor with The Herald in Everett from 2000-2006. After that he was city editor of The Olympian in the state capitol, followed by three years of teaching high school after getting his master's in education from PLU. His journalism experience after graduating from WSU in 1979 includes stints as a reporter, sports editor, wire editor, features editor, business editor and copy editor. Five times in the past 20 years his papers have received regional SPJ awards for being the best for their size in the Pacific Northwest. He also has received numerous individual awards.

After studying in the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University, Kirk Boxleitner trained to be a Navy Journalist at the Defense Information School, where he received his print and broadcast certifications in 1997. His seven years in the service included stints overseas, in Japan and Italy, as well as on board USS Theodore Roosevelt, where he took part in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. He joined the staff of The Marysville Globe in 2004, and has worked as a reporter for the Globe and The Arlington Times ever since.
